What documents can I upload to verify a Trust is an accredited investor?

Updated over 2 months ago

The easiest and fastest way to confirm the trust is accredited is to upload a letter indicating that the trust is an accredited investor, signed by an accountant/lawyer/broker-dealer/investment advisor, template letter can be found HERE.

However, the following are alternative methods for revocable and irrevocable trust investors:

Option 1: Revocable Trust

  • Provide a copy of the trust deed

AND one of the following

  • An accredited investor letter confirming that each Trust grantor(s) is an accredited investor(s)

  • Documents verifying that the Trust grantor(s) has a net worth exceeding $1M USD either by themselves or jointly with their spouse, must be dated within the past 90 days from the date of the request.

  • Documents verifying that the Trust grantor(s) has an income of $200,000 USD individually or $300,000 USD jointly with a spouse in each of the past two years and the current year

  • Documents verifying that the Trust grantor(s) currently maintain a FINRA Series 7 or FINRA Series 63 license (see SEC rules here).

  • Documents verifying that the Trust entity owns more than $5M USD in assets

  • Documents verifying that the Trustee or co-trustee of the trust is a bank, insurance company, registered investment company, business development company, or small business investment company

Option 2: Irrevocable Trust

  • Provide a copy of the trust deed

AND one of the following

  • Documents verifying that the Trust entity owns more than $5M USD in assets

  • Documents verifying that the trustee or co-trustee of the Trust is a bank, insurance company, registered investment company, business development company, or small business investment company
