Why might bonus shares not appear in my account, and where can I see them?

Bonus shares, including stacked bonuses such as early, previous, or amount-based bonuses, are a common feature in investment offerings. However, there are several reasons why these shares might not yet appear in your account. Below, we provide an overview of the process, timing, and visibility of bonus shares to help you understand what to expect.

Overview of Bonus Shares

Bonus shares are additional shares allocated to investors as part of promotional offers or specific investment terms. These shares are typically issued at the closing of an investment round and are added to your total shareholding.

Timing of Issuance

Stacked bonus shares are generally issued at the closing of the investment round. If the round has not yet closed or the issuer has not finalized updating the cap table, these bonus shares may not appear in your account immediately. Additional volume or promotional perks are also processed at or after the closing stage, which can further delay their visibility.

Platform-Specific Visibility

Investors see their eligible perks (if the issuer opts in) from the landing page, through checkout, and into their subscription agreement. The checkout summary would clearly display all eligible perks and total shares. Once the holding statement is available, it will show the total shares, including any bonus allocations.

Common Reasons for Delays

  1. Pending Closing of the Investment Round: Volume-based bonus shares are issued only after the round closes, and the issuer updates the cap table.

  2. Platform Limitations: The DealMaker dashboard does not display bonus shares; they are visible only in the book-entry statement and during checkout.

  3. Processing Time: Additional volume or promotional perks may require extra time to be added to your account.

By understanding these factors, you can better anticipate when and where your bonus shares will appear. If you have further questions, consult your investment documentation or contact support for assistance.
