Important:
Maintenance routines should be completed at the end of the day or during a time when there is no time pressure to get the system operational. Certain tasks (like rebooting payment terminals) may take time, especially if software updates are triggered. Avoid performing these tasks immediately before service begins.

Daily Maintenance

Dnero App

  • Clear Orders: All orders should be cleared at the end of each day. You can either:

    • Tender off,

    • Put on an account, or

    • Delete the orders.

  • Cash Up Registers: Ensure all registers are cashed up daily.

  • Evict Data: Navigate to the three-line menu > Settings > Evict Data.

  • Soft Close of Dnero App: At the end of each shift, soft-close the Dnero app and re-open it.

iPad

  • Close Unnecessary Apps: Make sure no other apps are running in the background. Close any that aren’t required.

Weekly Maintenance

TestFlight

  • Check for Updates: Open the App Store and ensure TestFlight doesn't need an update.

  • Verify Dnero Link: In the TestFlight app, check if the Dnero link is still active and not showing “tester has been removed.” If it has been removed, contact us to get a new link.

  • App Version Consistency: If running multiple registers, ensure all iPads are using the same version of the Dnero app.

Dnero App

  • Clear Orders: Like daily maintenance, ensure all orders are either tendered off, put on account, or deleted.

  • Evict Data: Navigate to the three-line menu > Settings > Evict Data.

  • Soft Close of Dnero App: Soft-close the app and re-open it.

iPad

  • Check Storage: Verify that there is sufficient storage on each iPad. Delete unnecessary files such as unused apps or photos.

  • Close Background Apps: Make sure there are no unnecessary apps running in the background.

  • Update iOS: Ensure that the iOS operating system is up to date.

System Restart Procedure

  1. Unplug iPad Power Cable: Unplug the iPad from the power socket. Then, go to iPad Settings > General > Shut Down.

  2. Turn off Printers: Power down all printers.

  3. Turn off Payment Terminals: Power down payment terminals.

  4. Reboot Router: Turn off the router or unplug it from the power for at least 1 minute. After 1 minute, turn the router back on.

  5. Reconnect Systems: Once the router has rebooted, turn on all other systems. Wait for 2-5 minutes for everything to reconnect.

Post-Maintenance Tests

After completing the maintenance routine, perform the following tests:

  1. Run a Test Transaction:

    • Perform a test transaction in the Dnero app for a product(s) that prints to each printer.

    • Discount the order to $0.01 and pay using EFTPOS (if integrated).

  2. Check Printer Dockets:

    • Ensure all printers show the correct dockets and confirm that they are connected.

  3. Check Payment Terminal:

    • Confirm that the payment terminal processes payments correctly (if integrated).

  4. KDS (Kitchen Display System):

    • If you are using a KDS, ensure that it is receiving the correct dockets.

By following this routine, you will help ensure that your system always runs smoothly and efficiently. If any issues arise during these steps, please contact support for assistance.
