ACH Micro-Deposit Verification (Manual Bank Setup)

Updated yesterday

Overview

Dockwa offers two ways to connect your U.S. bank account for ACH payments: instant verification (via Stripe) and manual verification.

This article covers the manual process, which uses micro-deposits to verify your account. With this method, Stripe sends a small test deposit containing a unique 4-character code. You’ll confirm that code in Dockwa to complete setup. This process usually takes 1–2 business days.

Steps to Verify Your Bank Account

1. Select Manual Bank Setup

  • When adding a payment method, choose “U.S. Bank Account.”

  • Enter your email address and full name.

  • Select “Enter bank details manually instead.”

2. Provide Bank Information

  • Enter your routing number and account number.

  • Click Continue.

3. Review & Continue

  • You will then see the verification has been initiated.

  • Select “Continue with Dockwa”.

4. Wait for the Micro-Deposit

  • You will then see a summary screen. Review the information and ensure it is correct.

  • Click Save.

  • Within 1–2 business days, a small deposit will appear in your bank account.

  • The deposit description will include a unique 4-character code.

5. Confirm in Dockwa

  • Once you receive the micro-deposit in your bank account:

    • Return to Dockwa and go to Payment Methods.

    • You’ll see your bank account listed with an “Action Needed” banner.

    • Click the blue “Confirm” button.

6. Enter the Micro-Deposit Code

  • Type the 4-character code exactly as it appears in your bank statement. The code is the 4 characters after "SM". It looks something like this:

  • Click Save and Verify.

7. Verification Complete

  • Once verified, your bank account will be ready for ACH payments through Dockwa. The banner will turn green.
