IP Whitelisting

Restrict access to the platform by allowing only specified IP addresses for enhanced security

IP whitelisting lets you restrict access to your Docupath tenant by allowing only specified IP addresses, for enhanced security. When one or more IP addresses are whitelisted, the platform can be accessed only from those addresses.

When to Use

  • Restricting tenant access to known office or VPN IP addresses.

  • Meeting security or compliance requirements that limit where the platform can be accessed from.

Prerequisites

  • Admin role in Docupath (IP whitelisting is configured in System Settings).

  • The IP addresses you want to allow.

Steps

Adding a Whitelisted IP Address

  1. From the Main Menu, go to System Settings.

  2. Find the IP Whitelisting section.

  3. Click + Add new. The Add new IP address popup opens.

  4. Enter the details:

    • IP address: The IP address to allow.

    • Description: A label to help you identify the entry.

  5. Click Save. The address is added to the whitelist.

Managing Whitelisted IP Addresses

  • Whitelisted addresses appear in the IP Whitelisting list. When the list is empty, the page shows "No whitelisted IP addresses found!".

  • Use the Search bar to quickly locate a specific whitelisted address.

Expected Outcome

  • Once one or more IP addresses are whitelisted, the tenant can be accessed only from those addresses.

Common Issues

Issue

Cause

Resolution

Locked out after whitelisting

Your own IP address was not added to the whitelist

Make sure your current IP address (and any office or VPN addresses) are whitelisted before relying on the restriction.

Access blocked from a new location

The IP address for that location is not whitelisted

Add the new IP address to the whitelist.

Access intermittently blocked

A dynamic IP address changed

Whitelist a stable address, such as a VPN or office IP that does not change.

Notes

  • IP whitelisting restricts access to your tenant to the specified IP addresses, for enhanced security.

  • Each whitelisted entry has an IP address and a description to help identify it.

  • Add your own IP address (and any office or VPN addresses) before relying on whitelisting, to avoid locking yourself out.
