The Urgent flag marks documents for priority processing and review. When enabled, urgent documents display a URG label in the Review Screen and are prioritised in the processing queue. It can be configured at the organization or sub-organization level, and individual documents can also be marked urgent during upload.
When to Use
Time-sensitive invoices that require immediate processing.
Documents from priority suppliers.
Month-end or period-close processing where specific documents must be fast-tracked.
Prerequisites
Urgent Flag add-on enabled.
Access to organization settings to configure urgent marking at the organization or sub-organization level.
Steps
Enabling Urgent Marking at the Organization Level
Navigate to Settings > Manage Organizations.
Open the target organization and edit its settings.
Turn on the Mark documents from this organization as urgent toggle.
Click Save.
All documents from this organization are now marked as urgent. Its sub-organizations inherit this setting and are marked as urgent as well.
Enabling Urgent Marking at the Sub-Organization Level
Urgent marking can also be enabled separately for a sub-organization:
If the parent organization has urgent marking enabled, its sub-organizations inherit it automatically.
If the parent organization does not have it enabled, you can enable urgent marking for an individual sub-organization on its own.
To enable it for a sub-organization:
Navigate to Settings > Manage Organizations.
Expand the organization, then open the target sub-organization and edit its settings.
Turn on the Mark documents from this organization as urgent toggle.
Click Save.
Flagging Individual Documents as Urgent
For selective urgency, you can flag individual documents during web upload:
Begin a document upload via the web interface.
Toggle the Urgent option before submitting.
Submit the document.
The document is marked as urgent regardless of the organization or sub-organization setting.
Expected Outcome
Urgent documents display the URG label in the Review Screen.
Urgent documents are prioritised in the processing queue ahead of non-urgent documents.
Common Issues
Issue | Cause | Resolution |
URG label not appearing on documents | Urgent Flag add-on has not been purchased or enabled | Confirm the add-on is active and enabled for the relevant organization or sub-organization. |
All documents from an organization are flagged as urgent | Organization-level urgent marking is enabled | Disable it at the organization level and use sub-organization or individual document flagging for selective urgency. |
Sub-organization documents are unexpectedly urgent | The parent organization has urgent marking enabled, so its sub-organizations inherit it | Disable urgent marking at the parent organization, or manage it per sub-organization. |
Notes
Urgent marking can be enabled at the organization level or separately for individual sub-organizations.
When a parent organization has urgent marking enabled, its sub-organizations inherit the setting. When the parent does not, a sub-organization can enable it on its own.
Use individual flagging during upload for selective urgency, regardless of the organization or sub-organization setting.
The URG label is visible in the Review Screen to help reviewers quickly identify priority documents.
