Campaigns, Products and Funds explained

Learn about the three essential codes that define every transaction.

Every Donorfy transaction consists of three essential codes:

  • Campaign: is the reason the payment was made.

  • Product: represents what the payment was for.

  • Fund: records where the money should go.


Campaign

The Campaign is what prompts the person to donate.

Examples include:

  • Mailings.

  • Events.

  • Online giving pages.

  • Appeals.

Campaigns help tracking the effectiveness of each fundraising activity.

A Campaign exists on the Payment section of a Transaction.


Product

The Product defines what the donor pays for.

Examples include:

  • Donations.

  • Subscription (in case of membership schemes).

  • Raffle tickets.

  • Books.

The list of products is managed in the Settings section, and can be configured for Gift Aid eligibility.

A product exists in the Allocation section of a Transaction.


Fund

The Fund represents the destination of the money.

Examples include:
