Q1: Which JustGiving plan do I need?

Answer: You need the GROW plan. The free START plan does not include API access, which is required for the Donorfy integration.

Q2: Why is no data being retrieved from JustGiving?

Answer:Start by checking the JustGiving Settings page in Donorfy. At the bottom of the page you can see:

  • The date Donorfy last attempted a retrieval.

  • The transaction date of the last processed donation.

  • The date of the last processed Gift Aid payment.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Integrations, click JustGiving.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Test Settings to confirm your credentials are valid.

  4. If the test fails, the red banner will display the error message from JustGiving. This article from JustGiving provides more info on how to resolve this issue.

  5. If the test passes but the last data received is several weeks old, click Run Now to check for any late or unprocessed files.

πŸ“Œ Note:

  • JustGiving does not supply new donations immediately. Donations only become available in Donorfy after JustGiving makes its weekly payout.

  • Donations made shortly before the payout may roll into the following week due to clearing times.

  • Most donations appear in Donorfy up to two weeks after the donor gives.

Q3: Why are my Campaigns or Fundraising Pages not showing?

Answer: There are two common reasons:

  1. A JustGiving Campaign only appears in Donorfy if at least one Fundraising Page is assigned to it.

  2. Campaigns and Fundraising Pages update overnight. If you just created them, they may appear the following day.

Q4: Where Gift Aid is reclaimed by JustGiving, how is this handled in Donorfy?

Answer: Donorfy processes Gift Aid payments when they are received from JustGiving. Any additional JustGiving charges are added to the existing processing costs for the relevant transaction.

Q5: How are JustGiving fundraisers and donors mapped to constituents in Donorfy?

Answer:
For fundraisers and non-anonymous donors:

  • Donorfy matches records using email address, first name, and last name.

  • A confidence score selects the best match.

  • If the match score is below 13 or no match is found, Donorfy creates a new Constituent.

For anonymous donors:

  • Donorfy uses the Anonymous Donor Constituent specified under Settings, then Configuration, then JustGiving Settings.

  • This can be overridden per Campaign.

Q6: Does Donorfy write any data back to JustGiving?

Answer: No. Donorfy reads data only. It does not make any changes to your JustGiving account or settings.

Q7: I mapped my Campaign incorrectly β€” how can I change it?

Answer: You can update your mappings in either system:

  1. If using Campaign Codes in JustGiving:
Update the codes in JustGiving. Fundraising Pages will refresh overnight in Donorfy.

  2. If mapping Donorfy Campaigns to JustGiving Campaigns in Donorfy:Update the mapping directly in Donorfy.

πŸ“Œ Note:
Updating the mapping affects new incoming donations only.
You must manually update any donations already received. You can:

  • Edit each transaction individually on the Constituent Timeline, or

  • Create a Transaction List filtered by Campaign and Payment Method, then use the File Uploader to update them in bulk.

Q8: How do I change my username or password for JustGiving?

Answer:

  1. Go to Integrations, click JustGiving.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click into the Username field, delete the existing value, then type the correct username.

  4. Click into the Password field, delete the existing value, then type the correct password.

  5. Avoid using any browser autofill options.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Test Settings to confirm the credentials are correct.

If the test fails, a red banner will display the error message from JustGiving.
Correct the details, save, and test again.
