Using Your Dosh Card: Payments and Limitations

The Dosh card is a prepaid Visa debit card that offers flexibility for making payments. This article outlines where and how you can use your dosh card, provides guidance for selecting the correct payment options, and explains key limitations regarding direct payments at EFTPOS terminals.

Overview of Dosh Card Usage

  • Type of Card: The Dosh card is a prepaid Visa debit card.

  • Accepted Payment Methods: - Tap & Go (PayWave-enabled terminals) - Insert payment at terminals - Online payments wherever Visa is accepted

  • Apple Pay and Google Pay enabled: Contactless pay at any terminal that accepts Tap & Go

Using Your Card at EFTPOS Terminals

When using your dosh card at an EFTPOS or other payment terminal:

  1. Select "Credit" as the account type, even though the Dosh card is a prepaid debit card. Terminals categorize the card under "Credit."

  2. Proceed with the payment by either tapping (if PayWave-enabled) or inserting the card into the terminal.

Considerations

  • Payments can be made anywhere Visa is accepted, both online and in physical stores.

  • Always select "Credit" at payment terminals to ensure successful transactions.
