When entering your IRD number to open a Strive, you will be asked to enter a 9-digit IRD number.

If your IRD number has 8-digits, add a 0 before entering the rest of your IRD number.

Why do I need to enter my IRD number?

In NZ, tax must be paid on all savings and investment income. Your tax rate is based on your income. dosh as a registered financial services provider, will deduct tax when we calculate the interest or dividends you have earned. dosh will pay the tax on your behalf to Inland Revenue and give you a statement of the tax you’ve paid in that financial year.

Please note: To open a Strive account, you must be a New Zealand tax resident. We are currently unable to offer Strive accounts to customers who are tax residents of another country. Unfortunately, customers with dual US/ NZ citizenship are unable to open a Strive account.
