DPD Ireland – Health and Safety Policy Statement
The Management of DPD Ireland holds in the highest regard the safety, health and welfare of its employees, customers, contractors and members of the public who come into contact with their business. DPD Ireland are committed to comply with relevant safety and health legislation, codes of practice and guidelines. In recognition of this and in consultation with Employees, DPD Ireland will do all that is reasonably practicable to minimise the incidence of all workplace risks, prevent injury, damage to property and to provide protection from foreseeable work hazards, while ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
The CEO of DPD reland has delegated the responsibility for Health & Safety to the Management Team.
In recognition of this our Management Team will work towards:
The maintenance of safe working conditions, safe place of work, safe means of access and egress, safe plant and equipment and safe systems of work.
Maintain a constant and continuing interest in health and safety matters pertinent to the company’s activities.
Use of operating procedures designed to ensure the safety of employees, customers, contractors and members of the public.
Conscientious observance of all legal requirements and safety rules while ensuring compliance is sustained and implementation is conducted in a planned and organised manner.
Monitor accident, incident and near miss rates.
Implement identified protective and preventative measures.
Ensure risks to health from any article or substance are prevented.
Provide appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision.
The Management Team aim to work towards these objectives through Employee engagement, safety representatives and consultation while providing the necessary resources to ensure implementation of this policy.
Employees are expected to abide by approved practices, procedures and rules and to ensure the Health & Safety of themselves and others. This will be achieved by the application of loss control/accident prevention techniques by all employees when planning, implementing and reviewing operations, to ensure that adequate and prompt attention is given to the identification and correction of hazardous situations. The appointment of safety representatives, where appropriate, is encouraged.
The H&S Policy, together with its organisation and arrangements for implementation, are available from the Health & Safety Team. This policy will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, revised as appropriate and brought to the attention of all employees at least annually.
