Birthday Celebrations Policy
Overview
DPD Ireland acknowledges and celebrates employees' birthdays as a way to foster a positive work environment and strengthen team camaraderie.
Monthly Identification
The People Operations team will pull a monthly report to identify employees celebrating birthdays in that month and communicate with the respective manager.
Birthday Recognition
On a weekly basis, the People Operations team will schedule personalised birthday emails via Campaign Monitor to be delivered to employees on their birthday.
Canteen Credit
The employee's ID card will be topped up with β¬5 to be used in the company canteen for lunch and dessert.
Topping Up Process
People Operations will ensure the employee's ID card is topped up on the day of their birthday.
If the birthday falls on a weekend, the email will be sent on the actual day, and the canteen credit will be added on the nearest working day (Friday or Monday).
Milestone Birthdays
Employees celebrating milestone birthdays (18, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 65) will be provided with a cake for the team to enjoy.
The People Operations team will notify the employee's manager in advance.
Inclusive Approach
We value and honour the diverse preferences and requirements of our employees. If any team member chooses not to have their milestone birthday recognised, kindly inform your manager at least one week before the scheduled date. We strive to create an inclusive environment that respects individual choices and celebrates diversity.
Cake Arrangements
People Ops will order a standard-sized cake. The manager is responsible for coordinating the collection of the cake.
Photography and Sharing
With the employee's permission, photographs with the team and the birthday cake will be taken. Photos will be shared with the People Operations team via People@dpd.ie.
Non-Working Birthday
If the employee is not working on their birthday, the cake celebration will be postponed to their return to work.
Compliance
All birthday celebrations and related activities will adhere to company policies and guidelines. This policy aims to enhance workplace happiness and foster positive relationships among team members. It is subject to periodic review and updates as needed.
