Set Up Your Profile on the COS Platform (Officials)

This guide helps officials set up their profile on the COS platform, enter demographic information, and resolve common setup issues.

Step 1: Get Started with Profile Setup

  1. Click Get Started on the platform homepage.

  2. Select your role:

    • Official (referee, umpire, etc.)

    • Athlete (if you participate in games)

Tip: Not sure which role to select?
Choose Official if you're responsible for officiating games. If you're unsure, contact support.


Troubleshooting Role Selection

Q: I accidentally selected the wrong role. What should I do?
A:

  • Option 1: Go to Profile Settings and check if you can update your role.

  • Option 2: If you can’t update it yourself, contact support and request a role change.

Q: I’m not sure which role fits me.
A:

  • Officials = Referees, umpires, or game workers.

  • Athletes = Players or team members.

  • Other School Role = Only for school staff (not recommended for officials).


Step 2: Enter Your Demographic Information

Once your role is selected, the system will ask for:

  • Name

  • Date of birth

  • Contact details

  • Address

Completing this ensures you’re eligible for assignments and compliance processes.


Troubleshooting Demographic Information

Q: I can’t submit my demographic information.
A: Try these steps:

  1. Check for missing required fields (marked with a * symbol).

  2. Clear your browser cache and refresh the page.

  3. Try using an incognito/private browsing window.

  4. Use the latest version of Chrome or Edge.

If the issue continues, contact support.


Step 3: Confirm Your Profile Connection to an Organization

After setup, your profile should be connected to the organization you work with (e.g., your officiating association or school).


Troubleshooting Organization Connection

Q: I don’t see my organization listed in my profile.
A:

  • Option 1: Go to Profile Settings and check the Organizations section.

  • Option 2: If it’s missing, contact support to verify your connection.

Q: I can’t find myself in the People Page or schedules.
A: This usually means your role isn’t set correctly.

  • Step 1: Check that you selected Official during setup.

  • Step 2: If your role is incorrect or you’re unsure, contact support.
