1. Log in to the NFHS Center for Officials Services (COS), powered by DragonFly, on your computer's web browser. Select 'Organizations and People' from the left-side menu.

2. Select the blue 'Set Up Organization' tab.

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page where you'll see the 'Game Schedule Settings' and 'Lock-Out Periods'. Select 'Add Lock-Out Period' to create a new period.

4. Select the sport in the drop-down menu and then enter the number of days in which school staff can no longer add or modify a game without assigner approval. If you want to create a lock-out period for all sports and teams, select 'All (Default)'.

5. When school staff attempt to create or edit a game within the lock-out period, they will receive the following message that prompts them to contact their local officials association, which includes email addresses, phone numbers and the ability to send a message through the system.

6. If you need to modify an existing lock-out period, click on the 'Sport' or 'Number of Days' sections to make your change. If you need to delete an existing lock-out period, select the trash can icon.
