Drawing America offers both LIVE COURSES and PRE-RECORDED COURSES.
Our LIVE COURSES consist of three components (described in detail below):
VIDEOS that contain lessons and homework
CLASSROOMS where you post your homework and receive critiques
LIVE Zoom sessions with your instructor and classmates.
It is best to think of LIVE COURSES as courses at a brick-and-mortar school with your instructor. You have access to the content while the course is taking place. When the course is over, access to that content expires.
Let’s take a look at how these courses work:
1. VIDEOS that contain lessons and homework
After each LIVE class, a recording of it is posted, providing new content and new assignments.
2. CLASSROOM where you post your homework and get critiques
You get assigned to a Class Group when you join a class. Each week you will be asked to post your homework into that Group. Within 48 hours of the homework deadline, your instructor will critique your work. Some instructors make short videos, while others provide written critiques.
3. LIVE Zoom session with your instructor and other students
In addition to your personal critique, the Zoom sessions are what make the classes truly feel interactive. These sessions last 1.5 hours and typically occur on Saturdays or Sundays at 12:00 pm EST. (A class schedule is in each course description.)
Each instructor runs their session slightly differently based on their teaching style. Most sessions include a lecture/presentation of new material, a question-and-answer session, and some, not all, include a live drawing/demo component.
A video recording of the LIVE classes is posted for you to rewatch for the duration of the class.
