Understanding Dribbble Project Fees
At Dribbble, we strive to keep our fees transparent and competitive. We are proud to offer some of the lowest fees of any marketplace, reflecting our commitment to providing high-quality service for both designers and clients. This article aims to clarify the fees associated with Dribbble Projects and help you understand how they are applied.
Overview of Dribbble Project Fees
Project Cost and Client Platform Fees
Fees | Percentage | What is it? |
Project Cost | - | This is the total amount agreed upon by the designer and client for the work to be completed. It is specified in the Project Proposal. |
Designer Platform Fee | Starting at 4% or 0% for annual Pro Standard members and Pro Plus members*. | This fee is deducted from the designer's payout. |
Client Platform Fee | Starting at 2% + $2 for orders under $100 USD | Added to the Project Cost and clearly displayed at checkout. |
Payment Processing Fee | 2.9% + 30 cents | Added to the total cost (project cost + fees) and is clearly displayed at checkout. |
Client Platform Fee
To keep costs manageable, we offer reduced fees for project budgets above a certain threshold. Clients pay a graduated Client Platform Fee based on the Project Cost. This fee is added to the Project Cost and does not reduce the designer payout.

Projects under $100 USD also incur an additional flat $2 USD fee for the client.
Client Platform Fees are waived for clients working with Pro Plus annual subscribers or Designer Advertisers.
Designer Platform Fee
A graduated Designer Platform Fee is applied to the designer's payout based on the Project Cost. Pro Standard (annual) and Pro Plus members do not incur Designer Platform Fees.

Dribbble’s Designer Platform Fees have changed, effective February 5, 2026. Updated fees apply to projects initiated on or after this date.
Total Project Fee Examples
To provide a clearer picture, here are a few examples illustrating how these fees are applied:
Example 1: Project Cost of $75
Project Cost: $75
Designer Platform Fee (graduated): 10% of $75 = $7.50 (deducted from designer’s payout)
Client Platform Fee (graduated): 5% of $75 = $3.75 + $2.00 (projects under $100) = Total Client Platform Fee: $5.75 (added to client’s payment)
Stripe Processing Fee: 2.9% of ($75 + $5.75) + $0.30 = 2.9% of $80.75 + $0.30 = $2.64
💳 Total Cost for Client: $75 + $5.75 + $2.64 = $83.39
💰 Designer Payout: $75 − $7.50 = $67.50
🤑 Pro Designer Payout*: $75
Example 2: Project Cost of $650
Project Cost: $650
Designer Platform Fee (graduated): 10% of first $500 = $50.00 + 7% of remaining $150 = $10.50 = Total Designer Platform Fee: $60.50
Client Platform Fee (graduated): 5% of first $500 = $25.00 + 3.5% of remaining $150 = $5.25 = Total Client Platform Fee: $30.25
Stripe Processing Fee: 2.9% of ($650 + $30.25) + $0.30 = 2.9% of $680.25 + $0.30 = $20.03
💳 Total Cost for Client: $650 + $30.25 + $20.03 = $700.28
💰 Designer Payout: $650 − $60.50 = $589.50

Example 3: Project Cost of $2,500
Project Cost: $2,500
Designer Platform Fee (graduated): 10% of first $500 = $50.00 + 7% of next $500 = $35.00 + 4% of remaining $1,500 = $60.00 = Total Designer Platform Fee: $145.00
Client Platform Fee (graduated): 5% of first $500 = $25.00 + 3.5% of next $500 = $17.50 + 2% of remaining $1,500 = $30.00 = Total Client Platform Fee: $72.50
Stripe Processing Fee: 2.9% of ($2,500 + $72.50) + $0.30 = 2.9% of $2,572.50 + $0.30 = $74.90
