At DripJobs, we believe your account security is not just a feature but a responsibility. We are introducing stronger password requirements and a periodic change policy to keep your account protected against modern security threats. This FAQ covers the most common questions about the new process, explaining in detail what is changing, why these changes are important, and how to update your password successfully.

¿Why am I being asked to change my password?

This is a proactive step to protect your account from unauthorized access. Over time, even strong passwords can become more vulnerable. They might be reused on other platforms, appear in public breach lists, or be guessed through sophisticated attacks. By requiring a new password periodically, we make it much harder for a compromised or outdated credential to be used against you.
Changing your password is like changing the locks on your office or home. Even if no one has tried to enter, you reduce the risk and maintain control over who can access your space. This process ensures your personal data, client information, and business records remain safe.

¿What are the requirements for my new password to be accepted?

Your password must meet all of the following conditions for security and system compatibility:

• Minimum length of ten characters to provide a strong base against brute force attacks
• At least one uppercase letter to increase complexity
• At least one lowercase letter to diversify the character set
• At least one number to add an additional security layer
• At least one special character such as !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *
• Both the New Password and Confirm New Password fields must match exactly to avoid typos
• The new password must be different from the current password to prevent reuse of compromised credentials
• You must enter your current password to confirm that you are the authorized account owner

If you miss any requirement, the system will clearly indicate which rule has not been met, so you can adjust your password before completing the change.

¿Can I use my previous password as my new password?

No. Reusing an old password defeats the purpose of this security upgrade. If your previous password was ever exposed in a breach or guessed by a malicious actor, reusing it could give them immediate access. Creating a brand new combination ensures that any old information becomes useless to potential attackers.

¿Which special characters are allowed in my password?

Most common special characters are supported, such as exclamation marks, at symbols, hash signs, dollar signs, percentage symbols, carets, ampersands, and asterisks. Two characters, the tilde and the backtick, are not supported and will not be recognized. If you attempt to include them, the system will ignore them, so it is best to choose from the accepted symbols to avoid delays in setting your password.

¿How do I know if my password is strong enough?

When you type your new password, you will see a strength indicator that updates in real time. This tool provides a visual checklist showing which requirements you have met and which still need attention. The bar will also display an overall strength level based on length, complexity, and variety of characters. By following these indicators, you can make sure your password is both secure and accepted by the system on the first try.

¿Why was my password rejected even though it meets the rules?

In addition to the visible requirements, DripJobs compares your chosen password against a database of the most common and easily guessed passwords. If your entry appears in this database, it will be rejected even if it meets all the listed rules. This extra step protects you from using a password that attackers are most likely to try first, such as sequential numbers or dictionary words.

¿Can I change my password from my mobile device?

Yes. The password change process works exactly the same on web and mobile. Whether you are using a phone, tablet, or computer, you will have access to the same real time validation, feedback, and submission process.

¿What happens if I forget my password after changing it?

If you forget your new password, you can use the Forgot my password link on the login page. Once selected, you will receive an email containing a secure, time sensitive link to reset your password. You will then be able to set a new password that complies with the updated requirements and regain access to your account.

¿What should I do if I do not remember my current password and it is required for the change?

If the password change form asks for your current password and you cannot recall it, simply select the Forgot my password option. This will send a password reset link to your email, allowing you to set a new password without needing the old one.

¿How often will I need to change my password?

You will be required to update your password every 120 days. This interval is chosen to maintain high security standards while minimizing unnecessary interruptions to your work.

¿Will I receive a notification before my password expires?

Yes. You will start receiving notifications fourteen days before the expiration date. These will appear as reminders within DripJobs, giving you enough time to change your password before the deadline and avoid being locked out.

¿Can I use a password manager to generate and store my new password?

Yes, and we highly recommend it. A password manager can create a secure and unique password that meets all requirements without you having to memorize it. It will also store the password securely and autofill it when you log in, making the process more convenient and error free.

¿How will this change affect my access to the app or connected integrations?

Updating your password will not interfere with your ability to access DripJobs or your connected integrations.

¿What measures does DripJobs take to protect my password once it is updated?

When you set a new password, it is never stored in plain text. Instead, it is processed using a secure one way hashing algorithm, which turns it into an irreversible string of characters. This means that even if someone gained unauthorized access to the database, they would not be able to recover your original password. Unique salts are added to each password before hashing, ensuring that even if two people choose the same password, their stored values are completely different. This method makes large scale cracking attempts significantly more difficult and keeps your credentials protected.
