Note: QB has a tendency to disconnect from time to time. If things are not syncing, the first course of action is to go to the integrations tab in company settings, sign out and back in.
The first thing to check is on the Company Settings > Integrations tab. Be sure you are signed into QuickBooks and have made selections on 4 drop-downs:
Tax Code
Tax Rate
Income
Expense
When having trouble getting your QuickBooks to sync try a manual sync in this order: Contacts, then Invoices, then Payments.
Having a phone number in the email field for the contact will not work, and having an email in the phone field will not work.
You can sync a contact, invoice, or payment manually by clicking the tiny "Click here" text at the bottom of the screen.
Click Products/Services and make sure each item has accounts for income and expense.
In order to sync invoices, each item on the invoice must have an income expense account specified, and each item must be synced with QuickBooks.
It is not possible to sync when a line item was entered manually instead of using the drop-down list, so if you are entering a one-off item, it is still important to add it in Products/Services.
CANADA users: Every line on an invoice must have an amount in the tax field.
1. Open the invoice in question
2. Scroll down and manually sync it by clicking "Click here"
3. If syncing fails, go to the "Contact"
4. Scroll down, Sync the contact
5. Read the error message and make any necessary adjustments to the contact data
Sometimes, data will be entered incorrectly and will not sync to QuickBooks.
β
6. Scroll down after making any adjustments, manually sync the contact again
