If you're new to selling coffee, you might be wondering what claims you can or cannot make. This article is to help with recommendations on what you should or should not claim.
It is not legal advice for your specific situation, but please use these guidelines to help you.
Do:
Organic
We have organic coffees available for you to sell. The way you can market this is by mentioning on the Ingredients section of the label as Ingredients: Organic Coffee
Don't:
Organic
You don't have the ability to mention the organic coffees as certified organic. This is because each brand must get their own certification, and you cannot use the certification of the suppliers within Dripshipper.
You are not certified, you must not make any organic claim on the principal display panel or use the USDA organic seal anywhere on the package.
Sustainable
Under CA greenwashing laws, you cannot make undefined and unsubstantiated sustainability claims. You will need to gain information from Temecula Coffee Roasters on the sustainable farms to be able to describe the farms the beans come from as a certain sustainable practice being used. So refrain from using sustainable practices until you have consulted with Temecula Coffee Roasters on how to communicate this.
Fairtrade
We have a Fairtrade program through Temecula Coffee Roasters in which you can enroll and obtain the Fairtrade certification for certain coffees. We will update this article once that is available, but until then, do not claim any Fairtrade certification for the coffees available within Dripshipper.
