What is Driveway?

Q: What is Driveway?

A: Driveway is a Chrome Extension that lets you capture workflows on websites and turn them into interactive walkthroughs.

Q: How do I use Driveway?

A: Install Driveway's Chrome Extension, pin it, and click it to start capturing what you are doing on a website. When you are done, click finish, then "Play guide" to see your interactive walkthrough.

Q: What websites can I use Driveway on?

A: Driveway is a Chrome extension and can capture anything used in its browser. Driveway doesn't work well on websites that do not respect accessibility standards for visually impaired users. Some of the most popular websites Driveway works best on include Hubspot, Canvas, Notion, and Salesforce.

Q: Can I use it on my desktop applications?

A: Driveway doesn't support desktop applications at this time, if you are interested in this, please reach out to us at hello@driveway.app.

What are the best practices for using Driveway?

Q: What are the best practices for using Driveway?

A: We recommend testing your workflow without capturing it first, so you know what clicks you'll need to make. We also recommend reviewing the text Driveway automatically creates for your steps and making any edits. Lastly, we recommend testing your guide by clicking "Play guide" before sharing it.

A: Some of the most popular websites Driveway works best on including Hubspot, Canvas, Notion, and Salesforce.

What is a Driveway workspace?

Q: What is a Driveway workspace?

A: When you sign up for Driveway, you create a workspace. Your workspace is where you can invite team members to view the guides you created.

Q: What can workspace team members do? What can they not do?

A: All workspace team members can create guides and view guides in the workspace. Workspace team members cannot delete guides made by other team members.

Q: What if my co-worker signs up for Driveway?

A: If your co-worker signs up for Driveway, they will create a new workspace.

Q: What if my co-worker has a workspace and I invite them to my workspace?

A: You won't be able to invite a co-worker to a workspace if they already have their own. If you would like to add them to your workspace, please let us know by chatting with us or by emailing us at hello@driveway.app.

Q: What if I want to remove a workspace team member?

A: At this time, workspace team members cannot remove each other from workspaces. If you would like to remove a workspace team member, please chat with us or email us and we will take care of it right away.

Q: Can I be in multiple workspaces with the same email address?

A: No, not at this time, but if this is a capability you're interested in, please let us know by chatting with us or by emailing us at hello@driveway.app.

Q: What if someone I work with has their own Driveway workspace and I want to add them to mine?

A: If you would like to combine workspaces, please chat with us or email us and we will take care of it right away.

How do I use interactive walkthroughs?

Q. How do I start an interactive walkthrough?

A: After you make a guide, click the "Play Guide" button in the top right.

Q: Once I start an interactive walkthrough, how do I make it go to the next step?

A: You can make your interactive walkthrough go to the next step by clicking where the highlighter is pointing. You can also use the arrow keys in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. If you use the arrow keys, it won't change the website you are on.

Q: How do I share an interactive walkthrough?

A: You can share an interactive walkthrough in a few ways. You can invite someone to your workspace in the bottom left-hand corner of your homepage. You can also make your guide "Public" and send someone the link. If you want interactive walkthroughs to automatically appear, we would love to hear more - please schedule a demo with us here.

How do I share my guides?

Q: Can I share a Driveway guide with someone who does not have Driveway installed?

A: You definitely can! Anyone in your workspace can access the guide, and you can also share a screenshot guide with anyone outside your workspace right from your dashboard. However, if the person you are sharing a guide with does not have a premium Driveway account, they will not be able to enable interactive guides.

Q: Who will be able to see my guide once completed?

A: By default, anyone signed up in your workspace org can view your guide after completing a guide. This makes sharing guides super fast and easy. To share the guide with anyone outside your workspace, you can change your Privacy Settings to Public by selecting 'Anyone with the link can view.'

Q: How can I get the URL to add a hyperlink to my website?

A: Once you complete your guide, you will need to make your guide public. Please check out this Driveway Guide to learn how to make your guide public https://on.driveway.app/guides/jLBXOW7/. Once public, the hyperlink will be available in your company workspace. You can use the link to share the guide and connect it to your website.

What else can Driveway do?

Q. Can I edit a guide once it is created?

A: Yes! Every Driveway guide is customizable - you can edit the step title, add a detailed description, move a slide up or down in a sequence, and if needed you can remove a step from the guide.

Q: Can I create a guide outside of Chrome?

A: Right now, Driveway is only available as a chrome extension.

Q: How long will my guide be available for use once created?

A: Your guide is yours forever! You can save it in your Driveway dashboard or export it as a pdf or html file.

Q: Can I download the extension under more than one Chrome profile?

A: Absolutely! In fact, we have customers that do this all of the time. All you have to do is sign into your Driveway account in any Chrome profile, and you will have the power to create, edit, and share guides in seconds.

Q: Can I add or edit the screenshot once captured or produced in a guide?

A: Today, you can blur sensitive information from your screenshots. Our team is working to provide features such as adding boxes to enhance your guides.

Q: Can I put my company logo on the export document?

A: To add your company logo to a guide, we recommend downloading the guide in Google Docs and adding the logo to your saved Google doc.

Q: What formats can I download a guide?

A: Currently, your guide can be downloaded to PDF, HTML, Markdown, Google Docs, and Notion.

Q: How much does Driveway cost?

A: Driveway's free plan includes unlimited guides, unlimited users, and up to 100 guide views per month. Driveway's Pro plan starts at $49 per month, and includes 1,000 views, and custom branding & analytics. You can read more about our Pricing here.
