A: Driveway is a Chrome Extension that lets you capture workflows on websites and turn them into interactive demos.

Q: How do I use Driveway?

A: Install Driveway's Chrome Extension, pin it, and click it to start capturing what you are doing on a website or web app. When you are done, click finish to see your interactive demo.

Q: What websites can I use Driveway on?

A: Driveway is a Chrome extension and can capture anything used in its browser. Driveway doesn't work well on websites that do not respect accessibility standards for visually impaired users. Some of the most popular websites Driveway works best on include Hubspot, Canvas, Notion, and Salesforce.

Q: Can I use it on my desktop applications?

A: Unfortunately, Driveway doesn't support desktop applications at this time, if you are interested in this, please reach out to us at hello@driveway.app.

What are the best practices for using Driveway?

A: We recommend testing your workflow without capturing it first, so you know what clicks you'll need to make. We also recommend reviewing the text Driveway automatically creates for your steps and making any edits.

A: Some of the most popular websites Driveway works best on including Hubspot, Canvas, Notion, and Salesforce. But Driveway has helped build demos for a variety of browser based softwares.

What is a Driveway workspace?

Q: What is a Driveway workspace?

A: When you sign up for Driveway, you create a workspace. Your workspace is where you can view or edit interactive demos you created and invite others to do the same.

Q: What can workspace team members do? What can they not do?

A: All workspace team members can create interactive demos and view them in the workspace. Workspace team members cannot delete interactive demos made by other team members.

Q: What if my co-worker signs up for Driveway?

A: If your co-worker signs up for Driveway, they will create a new workspace.

Q: What if my co-worker has a workspace and I invite them to my workspace?

A: You won't be able to invite a co-worker to a workspace if they already have their own. If you would like to add them to your workspace, please let us know by chatting with us or by emailing us at hello@driveway.app and we would be happy to move them over.

Q: What if I want to remove a workspace team member?

A: At this time, workspace team members cannot remove each other from workspaces. If you would like to remove a workspace team member, please chat with us or email us at hello@driveway.app and we will take care of it right away.

Q: Can I be in multiple workspaces with the same email address?

A: No, not at this time, but if this is a capability you're interested in, please let us know by chatting with us or by emailing us at hello@driveway.app.

Q: What if someone I work with has their own Driveway workspace and I want to add them to mine?

A: If you would like to combine workspaces, please chat with us or email us at hello@driveway.app and we will take care of it right away.

Q: What is an in-app walkthrough?

A: In-app walkthroughs navigate users through your product in real time. As a Driveway user, in-app walkthroughs give you the ability to create a demo and set it live. In-app walkthroughs are best for onboarding customers and employees to your product and can be added to your product with just one line of code. Q. How do I start an in-app walkthrough?

A: After you make a guide, click the "Play Guide" button in the top right.

Q: Once I start an in-app walkthrough, how do I make it go to the next step?

A: You can make your interactive walkthrough go to the next step by clicking where the highlighter is pointing. You can also use the arrow keys in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. If you use the arrow keys, it won't change the website you are on.

Q: How do I share an in-app walkthrough?

A: You can share an interactive walkthrough in a few ways. You can invite someone to your workspace in the bottom left-hand corner of your homepage. You can also make your guide "Public" and send someone the link. If you want interactive walkthroughs to automatically appear, we would love to hear more - please schedule a demo with us here.

How do I share my interactive demos?

Q: Can I share a Driveway interactive demo with someone who does not have Driveway installed?

A: You definitely can! Anyone in your workspace can access the interactive demo, and you can also share an interactive demo with anyone outside your workspace via link, video or embed. Here’s how:

Q: Who will be able to see my interactive demo once completed?

A: By default, anyone signed up in your workspace org can view your interactive demo after completing an interactive demo. This makes sharing interactive demos super fast and easy. To share the demo with anyone outside your workspace, you can change your Privacy Settings to Public by selecting 'Anyone with the link can view’. Share link in a email or embed in your website with the embed snippet.

Q: How can I get the URL to add a hyperlink to my website or support email?

A: Once you complete your interactive demo, you will need to make it public to receive the link. Once public, you can use the link to share the demo and hyperlink on your website or in support emails.

What else can Driveway do?

Q. Can I edit an interactive demo once it is created?

A: Yes! Every Driveway demo is customizable - you can edit the step title, add a detailed description, move a step up or down in a sequence, move tooltips, move highlighters, add voiceovers, blur and if needed you can remove a step from the guide.

Q: Can I create an interactive demo outside of Chrome?

A: Right now, Driveway is only available as a chrome extension.

Q: How long will my interactive demo be available for use once created?

A: Your demo is yours forever! You can save it in your Driveway dashboard or export it as a PDF, PNG, MP4, HTML or Markdown file.

Q: Can I download the extension under more than one Chrome profile?

A: Absolutely! In fact, we have customers that do this all of the time. All you have to do is sign into your Driveway account in any Chrome profile, and you will have the power to create, edit, and share demos in seconds.

Q: Can I add or edit the screenshot once captured or produced in an interactive demo?

A: Today, you can add steps to screenshots, add markup, add blur, add voiceovers and AI- generated text-to-speech. You can also add video steps and move tool-tips. We are currently working on the ability to edit your highlighter positioning after screenshots are created.

Q: Can I put my company logo on the export document?

A: Yes! Once a company logo in your workspace settings they will appear on your export documents. Check out this Driveway demo on how to upload a logo:

Q: What formats can I download an interactive demo?

A: Currently, your demo can be downloaded to PDF and PNG. Or copied to HTML and Markdown. And don’t forget export to video!

A: Driveway's free plan is best for individuals getting started with step-by-step guides. The free plan includes includes 1 user per workspace, 3 public demos, step-by-step guides, video & voiceover.

Driveway's Pro plan starts at $10 per user per month and is best for teams sharing demos with customers and employees. This plan includes unlimited public demos, custom branding, text-to-speech and blur all without Driveway watermarks.

Driveway’s enterprise plan is best for businesses who want In-app Walkthroughs. This plan starts at a flat rate of $1,000 per month and includes unlimited seats, In-app Walkthroughs, software developer kit, onboarding, dedicated support, SSO & Okta.

Is Driveway SOC II compliant?

Q: Is Driveway SOC II compliant

A: Yes! Driveway is now SOC 2 compliant! SOC 2 compliance means that a service organization has undergone a rigorous audit of its security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy controls. Driveway completed our audit with Secureframe!

Here is a brief overview of the five SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria:

  • Security: The organization has implemented and maintains effective controls to protect its systems and data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction.

  • Availability: The organization has implemented and maintains effective controls to ensure that its systems and data are available to authorized users when needed.

  • Processing integrity: The organization has implemented and maintains effective controls to ensure that its systems and data are processed accurately and completely.
