You may be subject to the ELDT regulations if you are applying for a Class A or Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) for the first time, upgrading a Class B CDL to a Class A CDL, or obtaining a Passenger, School Bus, or Hazardous Materials endorsement for the first time.
Federal exceptions apply, including certain applicants who held the relevant credential or commercial learner's permit before February 7, 2022, and applicants who qualify for specified skills-test exemptions. Confirm whether ELDT applies to you with your State Driver Licensing Agency.
