What's changed about your roster plans

Roster plans changed on 03/09/2026. Your plans are all still there, they just work a bit differently now.

Here's what's different:

Before: one click. Smart Roster built the week from your plan and filled every shift.

Now: those are two separate steps.

Paste plan puts your plan onto the week exactly as is.

Fill empty shifts assigns people to anything still empty.

Doing both, one after the other, gets you what Smart Roster used to do. The difference is you can stop in between, change whatever you like, and only then fill the rest. Or fill nothing and do it yourself.

You'll find both in the options menu, and Droppah suggests them next to the search bar when they're useful.

Before: a shift said how many people it needed. Three Back of House staff on Saturday was one row with a number on it.

Now: every shift is its own row. That same Saturday is three separate shifts, with the times already set.

Before: you nominated a preferred person, and Droppah weighed that against everything else before deciding.

Now: if someone's on a shift in your plan, that's who's on it when you paste. No weighing up.

The only exception is availability. If they can't work that day, the shift arrives empty and Droppah tells you why, rather than putting someone else on it.

No. Open a plan, check it looks the way you expect, and look for the "Paste Plan" in the options menu where Smart Roster used to be.

If you have any gaps, assign someone manually, run Fill empty shifts, or leave them to sort out later.
