How to Embed Your Crowdcast Event on Your Website

Share your Crowdcast event on your website or anywhere you can add an embed code.

Embedding your Crowdcast event into your own website is a great way to collect additional registrations or increase control over the branding of your event. We also make it incredibly easy to embed your event!

How to Embed Your Crowdcast Event

  1. Open your event and click Share in the top right corner. Your event must be public in order for the Share button to appear to attendees, but the host can always see the share button.

  2. Copy the Embed code, and paste it into your website. Some sites offer a built-in embedding tool where you can paste the code. By default, the embedded event code is set to a height of 800 pixels. You can adjust this value in the HTML embed code, when you add it to your site, if you’d like to make the embedded event appear larger (or smaller) on your webpage.

What is the attendee experience for embedded events?

When you embed a Crowdcast event on your website, attendees can watch the event directly from your site without being redirected to Crowdcast. They will still need to register with their email address before they can view the event.

Note: The embedded player is view-only. To participate in chat, ask questions, or use other interactive features, attendees will need to open the event in Crowdcast.

When embedding a Crowdcast event on your website, some actions will open in a new tab for security reasons. This is intentional to protect attendees and ensure a secure viewing experience.

It’s also recommended that you instruct attendees to add a password to their account. If attendees already have a Crowdcast account, they can add a password from within their account settings. If they are new registrants, they can add a password during registration. If they do not set a password on their account, they will have to click a login link in their email to access the event. This link will direct them to the Crowdcast event page and not your own website.

A Note About Embeds on Mobile

Embedded Crowdcast events may behave differently on mobile devices. This isn’t specific to Crowdcast, it’s due to how mobile browsers handle content inside iframes.

Mobile browsers such as Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, and in-app browsers (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) apply strict security rules that can impact:

  • Logging in or registering

  • OAuth login options (Google, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Redirects after sign-in or sign-up

  • Paywalls or other third-party scripts

In-app browsers are especially limited and often block cookies, redirects, pop-ups, and authentication scripts entirely.

For the best experience, especially for attendees on mobile, we recommend sharing the direct Crowdcast event URL instead of relying on an embedded version.

These restrictions are controlled by browser vendors (Apple WebKit, Chrome sandboxing, social-app in-app browsers), so they can’t be overridden by Crowdcast or any other platform.

Important Notes

  • You cannot host events through the embedded version of Crowdcast. Please use the main Crowdcast website.

  • If you ever archive the event in the future, make sure you remove the embed code from your website.

  • Test the embedded form to ensure functionality.

  • Pair embedded events with targeted marketing campaigns to drive traffic to your site.
