About This Tutorial

As a teacher, you can take payment either in person or online using your Duet studio. There are three platforms you can use to accept online payments:

  • PayPal

  • Stripe

You don't need to set up all three, just the one(s) you want.

If you set up one of these payment options, a link to that option will appear at the bottom of the invoices that you create for your students. For example:

Here is the bottom part of an invoice without any online payment set up.

Here is what the bottom of the invoice looks like when payment is set up.

This tutorial shows you to how collect payments using PayPal, along with a link on how to set up a PayPal account if you don't already have one.

Create a PayPal Account

PayPal has a variety of ways for people to send you payment. Your student/parent can use their bank account, credit card, their PayPal balance, and a couple more ways.

If you don't already have one create a PayPal account. We recommend a business account. Go to:

Enabling PayPal in Your Duet Studio

To enable PayPal, go into your Invoices and Payments tab.

  1. Log in to your Duet account:

  2. Click on your name > Settings. Located at the top right corner of the webpage.

You will be taken directly into your Studio tab.

  3. Click on the Invoices & Payments tab.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the Invoices and Payments tab until you reach the Payment Options section.

  5. Click on the Enable Payments from PayPal box.

  6. Type in the email address you used to setup your PayPal account into the Email address associated with your PayPal account field.

  7. At the bottom of the page click on the Save Invoices and Payments Settings button, to save your changes.
