Why are changes in your Duet calendar not immediately showing up in your Google calendar?

Problem

You have synced your Duet calendar with your Google calendar. In Google, this is called a calendar subscription. You have noticed that when you make changes in your Duet calendar (such as add a lesson or an event) those changes do not immediately show up in your Google calendar. For example:

Let's say you added a Picnic Event to your Duet calendar.

Typically, you would hope to immediately see this change in your Google calendar. But, when you go to your Google calendar the Picnic Event is not there.

Cause of Problem

Per Google (as of November 2021), there is no fixed or even guaranteed interval of when calendar subscriptions get updated/synced. Google usually syncs subscription calendars twice every 24 hours. However, it has been known to take up to 2 days.

Resolution

Google does not let you manually sync calendar subscriptions. So, you basically have to wait for the sync to happen on Google's end.
