About This Tutorial

The Recording feature lets you record your Online Studio session. Once done recording, you can download it, share on Facebook, and/or get a link to the recording.

There are no time limits on how long the recording can be.

A few things to know:

  • When you stop your recording, it will be saved to the sever. Your recording will be there for many years. You can access all your recordings from any Online Studio session.

  • The recording will only capture video camera data. For example, if you open up the chat box the recording will not show that. The recording will capture each person and their voice.

This tutorial will show you how to use this Recording feature.

Start the Recording

Let's say that you are teaching a student some new exercises. To help your student remember them, you want to record the online lesson so they can refer back to it.

  1. Go to your Nav Bar and click on the More actions icon.

  2. Click on Start recording.

This will open up the Start recording box.

  3. Click on the Start recording button.

  4. Next, you will be asked for your email address. In case you loose internet connectivity or you accidently close out of Online Studio, what recording was done will be sent to this email address.

Fill out your email address then click on the Submit and Continue button.

A green message box will appear letting you know that the recording is about to start.

  5. Once the recording has started you will hear a voice letting you know, along with a green message box. Recording may take up to a minute to get started.

Another way to tell that your recording has started is when you see the REC red box at the top middle of your screen.

Stop the Recording

When you are done recording, you will want to stop it.

  1. Go to your Nav Bar and click on the More actions icon.

  2. Click on Stop recording.

This will open up the Recording popup box.

  3. Click on the Confirm button.

You will hear a voice letting you know that the recording has been stopped, along with a green message box.

Next, you will see a popup box that gives you a few ways to access and share the recording.

We recommend getting a copy of the recording link and saving it in a document for future use.

The rest of this tutorial will show you how all three of the options above work.

Share the Recording on Facebook

Once you have stopped the recording, you will see this popup box:

  1. Click on the Share on Facebook button.

This will open up the Share on Facebook window.

  2. You can say something about the post.

  3. At the bottom of the window, click on the Post to Facebook button.

The recording will now be posted to your Facebook page.

Download the Recording to Your Computer

Once you have stopped the recording, you will see this popup box:

  1. Click on the Download recording button.

This will bring up the Download Recording popup box, and automatically download your recording to where your browser is set to save downloads.

  2. When done, click on the X to exit out of the Download Recording popup box.

Get a Link to the Recording

Once you have stopped the recording, you will see this popup box:

  1. Click on the Copy recording link button.

The link will immediately be copied to your computers clipboard, and give you a message letting you know.

  2. You can then copy this link into a document. Or open up a browser window, copy the link into the URL box, and hit Enter to see the recording.

Finding Your Recordings Afterwards

When all is said and done, your recordings are saved on a server. If at anytime you need access to your recordings, you can access them from any Online Studio session. All you need to do is start any Online Studio lesson.

  1. Start any Online Studio lesson from your calendar (can be a past or future lesson).

  2. Once in Online Studio, in the upper left corner of your screen find the yellow Hamburger Menu.

  3. Click on the Hamburger Menu to open it.

  4. Click on My Recordings option.

This will open up the All Recordings popup box.

  5. Find your recording in the list. You can either search by Record Name:

    Or search by Date:

    Or search by Room Name:

Or just scroll through the list:

  6. Once you have found your recording, go over to the Actions column. This column is where you can choose how to retrieve your recording.

From the Actions column you have four options to choose from. You can click on the icon to either download the recording, copy the recording link, share to Facebook, or share through email.

  7. When done click on the X to close the All Recordings popup window.
