About This Tutorial

When you are creating or updating lesson notes, you can add an image to help clarify a point or send a congratulatory trophy image, for example.

There are two paths you can take to upload a photo. The first path is you have already uploaded the image into your File Area.

The other path is where you need to upload the photo from your computer.

Whether it is a public note meant for parents and students to see, or a private note for yourself, the steps are the same. This tutorial walks you through how to insert an image into your lesson notes.

Insert a Photo: Already Uploaded to Your File Area

Let's say that after each lesson you like to write a lesson note mentioning what the student did well and what they should work on next. To help students stay motivated, you want to send them encouraging images with the lesson notes.

  1. Click on Calendar.

  2. Find and click on the lesson you want to make your notes in. In this example, it is on June 6th, 2022.

This will open up the Scheduled Lesson popup box.

  3. Click on the Pencil icon to edit the lesson.

This will open up the Edit Lesson popup box.

  4. Click on the text Add Notes for {student's name}. In this example, the student is Frederic Chopin.

This will open up the Notes text fields.

  5. Right under the Notes for {student's name}, click on the Rich text box to check it.

This will open up the rich text editor.

  6. Click on the Image icon.

This will open up the Image Properties box.

  7. Click on the Browse Server button.

This will open up your Duet File Area window.

  8. Click on the image you want to add to the notes. In this example, it is the "greatJobStar.jpg" image. Note that these are images you have added to your folder; Duet does not provide any pre-loaded images.

  9. Click on the Select button.

  10. The image will be in the Preview window. Click on the OK button.

The image is now inside of your notes.

  11. Finish up your notes. Then click on the Update Lesson button, located at the bottom of the popup box.
