Library 

There are Six sections in the eSpatial Library.

Workspaces

  • Search for a workspace or a map by typing in the Search box. Any workspaces or maps that match your criteria will be returned.
  • Click on the Switch to Map View /Switch to Workspace View link to toggle between Map View and Workspace View.
  • Click on a Workspace name in the Workspace tree or in the main window to see any Maps saved in that Workspace.
  • Click on a Map name to open it.
  • Click on the Pencil icon beside the Workspace name to rename the Workspace
  • Click on the Delete icon to delete the Workspace.
  • Click on the Share icon to share the workspace.
  • Enter the name of a group or individual email with whom you want to share the workspace.
  • Give the group or user the following permissions as needed:Edit Maps – the group or user can edit the mapEdit Data – the group or user can edit the data on the mapCreate Maps – the group or user can create new maps in the shared workspace
  • Click on the Email notify check box if you would like to send an email to the user
  • Click on the Done button to finish sharing.

Advanced Options

Click on the View Advanced Options link.

In the advanced options you can set specific permissions for specific maps.

  • Enter the name of a group or individual email with whom you want to share the workspace and click on the Add button.
  • Give the group or user the following permissions as needed:View – the group or user can edit the map specifiedEdit Maps – the group or user can edit the map specifiedEdit Data – the group or user can edit the data on the map specifiedCreate Maps – the group or user can create new maps in the shared workspace
  • Click on the Email notify check box if you would like to send an email to the user
  • Click on the Done button to finish sharing.

Territories

  • Search for a territory by typing in the Search box. Any territories that match your criteria will be returned.
  • You can sort by:Date ModifiedTitle
  • Click on a Territory name in the Territory tree or in the main window to see the Territories in the main window..
  • Click on a Territory name in the territory territory tree to see more info about it.
  • Click on the Pencil icon beside the Territory name to rename the Territory
  • Click on the Delete icon or link to delete the Workspace.
  • Click on the Open icon or link to open the territory in the Territory Builder for editing.

Shared with me

  • Search for a Shared Map by typing in the Search box. Any Shared Maps that match your criteria will be returned.
  • You can sort by:Date ModifiedTitle
  • Click on a Shared Map name in the tree or in the main window to see the Shared Map in the main window.
  • Click on the Show Public Maps checkbox to allow maps that have been shared publicly to be visible in your library.
  • Click on a Map thumbnail to open it.
  • Once you open a Shared Map you can Save as a new Workspace owned by you using the Save button in the Control Panel.

Datasets

Here you will find your datasets. This will include:

  • Datasets that you uploaded – these will be from spreadsheets etc. The owner will be You.
  • Territory Datasets – these will be territory datasets that you created in the Territory Builder. The owner will be You.
  • Datasets from the eSpatial Datastore – these will be datasets provided by eSpatial that you have added to a map or used before. The owner will be eSpatial.
  • Shared Datasets – these will be datasets that have been shared with you by members of your team. The owner will be whoever shared it.
  • Click on the Delete icon to delete the dataset.
  • Click anywhere on a Dataset row to open the Dataset Details window.

Dataset Details

  • Click on the Cog icon in the Workspace tab to open the Workspace Details window.
  • Click on the Actions button and select Update to update the dataset. This option is only available for datasets you have uploaded.
  • Click on the Actions button and select Delete to delete the dataset.
  • Click on the Actions button and select Share to share the dataset. 

eSpatial Datastore

Here you will find useful datasets provided by eSpatial. In general these will be boundary datasets. Boundary Datasets are created on existing Geographic boundaries such as Countries or States etc. The eSpatial datastore contains datasets from many countries across the world.

  •   Click on the Add icon to add a dataset to your Datasets tab.
