How to get started and create your first professional resume, and troubleshooting any issues during signup

NOTE: we do require you to have a US-based phone number to register for EarnBetter at this time (September 2024)

Step 1: Enter your email

It must be a new email that has never been used before on EarnBetter in order to create a new account

Step 2: Upload your existing resume

You should upload any resume that you have (ideally your most recent, though you can always add experiences that are on there after you register). We'll use this resume to pull the information to create your account, and will analyze your existing work experience to create your new professional base resume.

Note: if you do not have any resume at all you can click "I don't have a resume" which will create a blank resume and you will be able to type in your personal information for registration.

Step 3: Confirm your personal information

We will pre-fill as much as possible based on your resume but please confirm that your personal information is accurate and complete.

Step 4: Confirm your work experience and your profile personalization:

These questions should be quick and will allow us to refine your resume and personalize your EarnBetter experience. You can always change these in your profile if you feel that you made an error.

NOTE: if your resume gets stuck on "Analyzing your work experience" it is likely that some character in your resume is throwing off our system. Common issues can be:

  • Your resume is a picture of a resume vs. the document itself -> copy the text of the document and create a new word doc or txt file, pasting values only

  • It is long (like, really long, over 10 pages) -> consider removing some extraneous text

And that's it! Next up is your new professional base resume!
