If you're trying to order Stone plaster (or Tadelakt, Marble, Sand, or Base) and you don't see where to put in the color, you're not missing anything — there is no color option on the plaster product page. Earthaus plaster bags are sold unpigmented, and your color comes from a separate product: the Mineral Pigment Pack.
How Color Ordering Works
Earthaus color is supplied as a Mineral Pigment Pack — a pre-measured packet of pure mineral pigment that you add to the dry plaster mix along with water during mixing. To order a colored plaster, you add two things to your cart:
Your plaster bags (the finish you're using — Stone, Tadelakt, Marble, Sand, Base, Lime Stucco, or 5-gallon Lime Slurry)
One Mineral Pigment Pack in your chosen color for every bag of plaster
Key rules:
You need one Pigment Pack per bag of pigmented plaster, Lime Stucco, or 5-gallon Lime Slurry.
Tadelakt is the exception: only the Tadelakt (finish) Plaster bags are pigmented. The Base Plaster base coat in a Tadelakt project is not pigmented, so it needs no Pigment Packs — order one Pigment Pack per Tadelakt Plaster bag only.
For single-product finishes (Stone, Sand, Base, Lime Stucco, 5-gallon Lime Slurry), every bag is pigmented, so you need one Pigment Pack per bag.
Each Pigment Pack is pre-measured for exactly one bag — do not split or combine packs.
If you want standard white (IBIS), no Pigment Pack is needed — all plaster finishes are available unpigmented.
The Easiest Way: Use the Project Calculator
The simplest way to get the right pigment quantities is to use the Project Materials Calculator for your finish. Enter your square footage and select your color, and the calculator lists every product in the system — including the Mineral Pigment Packs — in the right quantities, with Add to Cart buttons for each product or the entire system.
Before you check out, double-check that your cart contains one Pigment Pack per bag of plaster. If your pigment packs were not included by the calculator, order them separately from the Mineral Pigment Packs.
Products That Don't Need a Pigment Pack
Two products come pre-pigmented — you select the color on the product page and no separate Pigment Pack is needed:
1-gallon Lime Slurry
(Note: 5-gallon Lime Slurry still uses a separate Pigment Pack, one per 5-gallon unit.)
Good to Know
Pigment Pack size and weight vary by color — lighter shades require less pigment, deeper shades require more.
Pigment Packs are made to order and ship from Duluth, Minnesota, separately from your plaster bags, which ship from Salt Lake City or Nashville. Receiving multiple shipments for one order is normal.
