These fine lines typically disappear as the plaster dries and do not affect the waterproofing or performance of the Tadelakt system.
Understanding Temporary Hairline Cracks
Hairline cracks that appear only when wet are part of the natural expansion and contraction of lime plaster. These micro-fissures are cosmetic and result from surface tension changes during moisture exposure.
Lime plaster remains flexible and breathable, allowing minor movement without structural failure.
As the surface dries, the cracks close and become invisible again.
These temporary cracks do not indicate loss of water resistance or failure of the Olive Oil Soap Seal.
When to Seek Evaluation
Not all cracks are harmless. In some cases, larger or persistent cracks can signal an underlying issue.
