Why Care & Maintenance Matters
The long-term aesthetics and performance of an Earthaus Limewash Finish depend on both the installer's methods and the owner's care and maintenance.
Routine Care
Cleaning Limewash:
Earthaus Limewash is unsealed and absorbent.
Routine cleaning with water is not recommended.
Dust with a clean, dry cloth.
Vacuum gently to remove surface dirt.
Damage Types: Risks & Repair
Staining. Limewash is unsealed and highly absorbent, making it more prone to stains.
Superficial stains:
Lightly sand the area with a mildly abrasive cloth or fine sandpaper.
If needed, apply a coat of Limewash in the same color over the sanded area.
Once dried, blend edges with a non-abrasive cloth or fine sandpaper.
Deep stains:
Apply a coat of Limewash in the same color over the stain.
Once dried, blend edges with a non-abrasive cloth or fine sandpaper.
If the stain is oil-based, apply acrylic primer first to prevent bleed-through.
If the patched area remains unacceptable, apply a fresh coat of Limewash over the entire area.
