United Arab Emirates typically limit every ATA Carnet entry to 3 months, however, they may extend till the ATA Carnet until the expiration date.

Simply request the extension at the port of entry prior to the initial limited time period has concluded.

UAE does not accept partial shipments on an ATA Carnet.

Severe penalties will be imposed for failure to abide by the time limits set by customs for the re-exportation of goods, and for the non-presentation of the carnet for validation upon leaving the UAE.

UAE customs charges a service fees for ATA Carnets validated after office hours.


ATA carnets will be accepted by the UAE Member Customs of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and processed by the following Customs offices:

  • Abu Dhabi - Port Zayed

  • Abu Dhabi – International Airport

  • Abu Dhabi – Port Khalifa

  • Dubai - Jebel Ali Port

  • Dubai International Airport1

  • Al-Maktoum International Airport
