Vietnam only accepts ATA Carnets for Exhibitions and Fairs.
Specific Guidelines:
Partial and split shipment rules:
Split importation or re-exportation are NOT acceptable.
Importing only a part of the goods as listed in the general list is allowed under the condition that said imported items are to be re-exported in ONE consignment and that the goods imported are identifiable in the General List
Carnets are NOT accepted for postal traffic.
Carnets are NOT accepted for transit operations.
Carnets are accepted for hand-carried goods and via cargos.
Carnets are accepted from either ATA or Istanbul Contracting Parties (countries).
Replacement Carnets will be accepted.
Authorized representative
Details of the Authorized representative must be indicated in Box B of the Carnet
If the name of the authorized representative is not specified in box B, a Power of Attorney (letter of authorization) issued by the Holder to the representative must be presented to customs with the Carnet.
Customs Offices
All Customs offices at points of entry/exit and express consignments offices are authorized to operate ATA Carnets.
Goods may be cleared via any authorized Customs offices within regular office hours.
Regularization fees
Viet Nam customs will not charge regularization fee now, but it reserves the right to do so in the future.
