Tips for Australia

Permission to transfer the goods to a new Carnet must be requested (via Form B257) from the Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry prior to a Carnet’s expiry.

It is important to note that although unaccompanied commercial goods are accepted in Australia, goods under the Professional Equipment Convention must be accompanied by a representative (a technical expert) of the carnet holder.

Vehicles for R&D, testing and evaluation are not allowed for entry on a carnet. As there are special considerations when importing vehicles, it is advisable to check with Australian Customs prior to import.

For a list of the core hours of the major states and territories where carnets may be processed, please consult with your Carnet Services Representative.
