ATA Carnets are not accepted for postal traffic.

Request for Acceptance of Replacement Carnet must be applied before the original Carnet expires and before a Replacement Carnet is issued. Request must be made in writing to MICCI (atacarnet@micci.com and micci@micci.com) by emailing:

  1. Cover letter by Holder/Authorised Agent, quoting original Carnet Number, reason for requesting replacement carnet and expected date of re-exportation

  2. Scanned copies of Front Green Cover, General List and relevant white counterfoil

MICCI will coordinate with the Putrajaya Customs upon receipt of such requests. Customs' official decision letter (acceptance or rejection) will be notified to the holder/agent via MICCI.


Acceptance of Replacement Carnet by the Border Malaysian Customs is subject to:

  1. Presentation of official acceptance letter by the Putrajaya Customs Office, original Carnet & replacement Carnet, before the original Carnet expires

  2. Proper validation by the relevant overseas Customs in Section β€˜H’ of the Front Green Cover of original & replacement Carnet
