Configuring Subscription Discounts When Setting Up a Plan

Introduction

Subscription Discounts allow merchants to apply price reductions specifically to subscription-based purchases. This feature supports multiple discount types and helps manage pricing incentives for recurring orders in a structured way.

Merchants can configure discounts directly within Subscription Plans and apply them to selected products.

How to Create a Subscription Discount

Step 1: Open the App Dashboard

  • Log in to the Shopify admin panel

  • Navigate to Apps from the left navigation

  • Click Easy Subscription App

Step 2: Access Subscription Plans

  • Open the Easy Subscription App Dashboard

  • From the left-side menu, select Subscription Plan

  • Click Create Plan from the top-right corner

Step 3: Define Plan Details

  • Enter the Plan Title

  • Enter the Plan Name based on internal reference or storefront display

  • Click Browse Products and select the required product

Step 4: Configure the Subscription Discount

  • Enable the Offer Discount option

  • Select one of the following discount types:

    • Percentage Off

    • Amount Off

    • Flat Rate

  • Enter the discount value as required

Step 5: Save the Subscription Plan

  • Review the plan and discount configuration

  • Click Save from the top-right corner

  • The Subscription Plan with the applied discount is now active

Discount Types Explained

  • Percentage Off -:

    Applies a fixed percentage discount (for example, 5% or 18%) on each subscription order.

  • Amount Off -:
    Deducts a fixed monetary value from the subscription price.

  • Flat Rate -:
    Sets a fixed price for the subscription product, regardless of the original price.

Best Practices

  • Use Percentage Off discounts for long-term subscriptions

  • Use Flat Rate discounts for predictable pricing models

  • Review discount impact on margins before enabling plans
