Introduction
The Swapping and Fallback feature ensures subscription orders are processed even when the original product is unavailable. When inventory shortages occur and the customer does not manually swap the product, the system automatically dispatches a predefined fallback product to prevent empty subscription orders.
This feature operates at the subscription configuration level and is managed only from the application backend.
Why It Matters
Fallback handling supports operational continuity during inventory shortages. It helps merchants avoid missed shipments, reduces manual intervention, and maintains consistent subscription fulfillment without customer disruption.
How to Manage Swapping and Fallback

Log in to the Shopify Admin.
Open the Easy Subscription application from the Apps section.
