How to Change the Price of a Product in a Subscription Contract

Introduction

The Change Price of the Product feature allows merchants to update the price of a subscription product after an order has already been placed. This change applies to future recurring orders associated with the subscription.

This feature is used when a price adjustment is required due to contractual updates, pricing corrections, or special merchant-approved changes.

Why It Matters

Updating the product price ensures that future subscription orders reflect the correct billing amount. It helps merchants maintain accurate pricing without canceling or recreating subscriptions, reducing operational overhead and customer disruption.

How to Change the Product Price

Step 1: Access the Shopify Admin

  • Log in to the Shopify admin portal.

  • Navigate to the Easy Subscription App.

  • Click on Subscription to open the subscription list.

Step 2: Select the Subscription Order

  • Locate the subscription order you want to update.

  • Click on the order to open the subscription details page.

Step 3: Edit the Product Price

  • Locate the product within the subscription.

  • Click the three-dot menu next to the product.

  • Select Edit Product.

  • Update the product price as required.

  • Click Save to apply the changes.

The updated price will apply to future recurring orders for the selected subscription.

Best Practice

  • Review the subscription details before saving changes to ensure the correct product and pricing are updated.

  • Inform the customer in advance if the price change impacts their upcoming billing.
