Introduction

The Reviews Settings section allows merchants to control how customer reviews are published and managed within the store.

This feature helps manage review visibility, moderation, notifications, and layout configuration from a single location.

Review control supports brand consistency, moderation processes, and internal review monitoring.

Why It Matters

Managing review settings ensures that:

  • Only appropriate reviews are published on the storefront

  • Spam content is filtered before display

  • Internal teams receive notifications for new submissions

  • The review layout aligns with store design standards

Proper configuration helps maintain credibility and operational control.

How to Manage Reviews Settings

Step 1: Access the Application

  • Log in to your Shopify Admin dashboard

  • Click on Trusty & Review App

  • Click on Settings

Step 2: Open Review Settings

  • Select Review Options

  • Update the settings based on your operational requirements

Available Settings

A) Auto-Publish

This setting determines how new reviews are handled before appearing on the store.

  • Enable (Spam Checked)

    • Reviews are automatically published after spam verification.

    • No manual approval is required.

  • Disable (Manual Approval Required)

    • Reviews must be manually reviewed and approved before publication.

    • Suitable for stores requiring stricter moderation.

B) Email Notification

  • Enable this option to receive email notifications for every new review submission.

  • This allows you to monitor customer feedback in real time.

C) Review Listing Layout

  • Customize the layout of the review display page.

  • Adjust the appearance to align with your store theme and structure.

Best Practice

  • Use Manual Approval if brand compliance or content control is required.

  • Enable Email Notifications to monitor feedback consistently.

  • Review layout settings after any theme update to maintain visual alignment.
