Introduction
The Smart Renewals feature allows merchants to offer one product for the customer's initial purchase and a different product for subsequent subscription renewals.
This is useful when the first order includes a starter product, bundle, or promotional item, while recurring deliveries contain only the product intended for ongoing subscription.

How to Use / Manage
Access Smart Renewals
Log in to the Easy Subscription App.
Navigate to Growth Tools.
Click Smart Renewals.
Select Configure.
Create a Smart Renewal Plan
Click Create Plan.
Configure the plan details.
Set the subscription frequency according to your business requirements.
Select the Primary Product
The Primary Product is the product customers purchase on their first order.
Locate the Primary Product section.
Select the product that will be included in the initial purchase.
Select the Secondary Product
The Secondary Product is the product that will be delivered on recurring subscription orders.
Locate the Secondary Product section.
Select the product to be delivered on future subscription renewals.
Configure the delivery frequency for recurring orders.
Save the Configuration
Review the plan settings.
Click Save to apply the configuration.
Best Practice
Verify that the correct products are assigned as the Primary Product and Secondary Product before publishing the plan.
Configure a subscription frequency that matches your fulfillment schedule.
Test the subscription flow to confirm that the first order and renewal orders contain the expected products.
Important: The Subscription Widget must be added to your Shopify product page for Smart Renewals to function correctly on your storefront. Without the widget, customers will not be able to purchase the subscription plan.
