How sign-in works
ECGWeekly doesn't use passwords. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we'll send you an email with two ways in: a secure link and an 8-digit code. Click the link and press the confirm button, or type the code on the sign-in page you came from. Either way you stay signed in on that device for a long time, so this isn't an every-visit chore.
Link or code — which one?
The link signs in the browser that opens it. If you request it on your laptop but open the email on your phone, your phone is signed in — not the laptop.
The code signs in the device you type it on. Use it when you're reading email somewhere other than where you want to be signed in: a laptop with your phone in hand, a smart TV, a work computer without your email. The code box appears under "Check your email" on the sign-in page; if you've already left that page, choose Already have a code? Enter it here.
Gmail's in-app browser doesn't share sign-in with Safari or Chrome. If you tapped the link and still look signed out in your usual browser, type the code there instead.
Didn't get the email?
Check spam and quarantine folders. Hospital mail filters are the most common culprit.
Make sure it's your membership email. For your security the page says "check your email" whatever you type, but the email only goes to the address on your membership. If you've had more than one address with us, try the one you joined with — or message us with your name and we'll find your account.
Wait a few minutes, then try once more. We limit how many links can be requested in a short window — a pause resets that.
Link expired, "already used", or looping back to the form?
Links and codes expire after about an hour and work once, and each new request replaces the previous one — so always open the newest email. Email apps often show the oldest message on top of a thread. Some hospital email systems pre-scan links, which can use them up before you click; that's why the link opens a page with a confirm button, and only pressing the button signs you in. If a link still won't work, request a fresh one and use the code.
Seeing an "account locked" page?
If your account is used from many different networks in a short period, we temporarily lock it to protect you — shared logins are how accounts get compromised. Message support and we'll verify it's you and unlock it right away.
