Messages filtered by Carrier
Cellphone carriers utilize an automated system to identify and filter potential spam messages. To prevent misuse by malicious actors, they do not disclose the specific criteria for message filtering.
Below are some common conditions that may cause a carrier to filter a message:
Overly long messages
Overly capitalized messages
Mysterious links
URL shorteners
Hyperbole
Aggressive language
Blacklisted words or phrases
Lack of Opt-out instructions
Instagram post failed
While this error may be displayed for various reasons, the most common one is that Instagram failed to accept the video or image for this post.
Instagram has stringent rules for media formats. Instagram may reject a video or image that posts just fine to Facebook.
The most important difference between acceptable media formats between Instagram and other platforms is the orientation of videos.
Instagram only allows videos with a landscape orientation (the video is shorter than it is wide).
Specifically, the video must have a minimum aspect ratio of 4/5 and a maximum aspect ratio of 16/9. It cannot be wider than 1920 pixels.
To upload a video with a landscape orientation to Instagram, there are a couple of options:
Rotate Video - Rotate is available while editing videos on Apple and Android photo apps. While you can use this to make a video landscape orientation, it will tilt your video 90°. Depending on the content of the video, this may be an acceptable solution.
Crop Video to Landscape orientation - To change the orientation of a video without rotating it, you'll need to use movie editing software such as iMovie for Mac or Clipchamp for Windows.
