Personal Calendar

Updated over 3 months ago

Each user account on your school's content management platform includes one Personal Calendar. This calendar displays publicly on your personal pages, allowing students, parents, and colleagues to view your scheduled events and activities.

Key Features

  • One calendar per user: Each account can have exactly one Personal Calendar

  • Public display: Your calendar appears on your personal pages for public viewing

  • Easy event management: Add and edit events using the same tools as School Calendars

  • Google Calendar integration: While you cannot import Google Calendar events directly, you can embed a Google Calendar widget on your personal pages

Finding Your Personal Calendar

You can access your Personal Calendar in two ways:

Option 1: Through the Calendars Section

  1. Navigate to the Calendars section from your main dashboard

Option 2: Through Personal Pages

  1. If you already have a calendar created, it will appear in your list of Personal Pages

Step 3: Add Your First Event

  1. Once in the calendar feature, click Add Event

  2. Fill in your event details (title, date, time, description, etc.)

  3. Save your event

Important: Your Personal Calendar will only become visible after you add at least one event. Once you create your first event, the calendar will remain permanently visible in your Personal Pages section.

Managing Events

Your Personal Calendar uses the same event management system as School Calendars, so if you're familiar with creating school events, you'll find the process identical.

Adding Events

  • Click Add Event from within your calendar

  • Complete all required fields (event name, date, time)

  • Add optional details like location, description, or contact information

  • Save your event to make it live on your public calendar

Editing Events

  • Click on any existing event to modify its details

  • Make your changes and save to update the public display

Deleting Events

  • Select the event you want to remove

  • Use the delete option to permanently remove it from your calendar

Google Calendar Integration

While you cannot directly import events from Google Calendar into your Personal Calendar, you have an alternative option:

  1. Navigate to your Personal Pages

  2. Add a new page or edit an existing one

  3. Use the embed feature to add your Google Calendar widget

Best Practices

  • Regular updates: Keep your calendar current by adding upcoming events and removing past ones

  • Clear descriptions: Use descriptive event titles and include relevant details in the description field

  • Consistent formatting: Maintain a consistent style for similar types of events

  • Public consideration: Remember that your calendar is publicly visible, so only include appropriate professional information

Troubleshooting

My calendar isn't showing up: Make sure you've added at least one event. The calendar only becomes visible after the first event is created.

I can't find the Add Event option: Ensure you've created your Personal Calendar first by following the setup steps above.

My Google Calendar won't import: This is expected behavior. Use the embed feature on your personal pages instead.
