Section Calendars

Section Calendars allow individual departments and groups within your school to maintain their own dedicated calendars alongside the main school calendar system.

What are Section Calendars?

Section Calendars are specialized calendars designed for specific sections of your school, such as:

  • Math Department

  • Counseling Services

  • Athletics

  • Drama Club

  • Band Program

  • And any other section or department

Each section can have only one Section Calendar, which appears on your public website within that section's area.

Who Can Access Section Calendars?

Any user account that has access to manage a particular section will automatically have access to that section's calendar. This means if you can edit pages in the Math section, you can also manage the Math section's calendar.

Managing Events

Section Calendar events work exactly like School Calendar events. You can:

  • Add new events

  • Edit existing events

  • Delete events

  • Set recurring events

  • Add event details and descriptions

Important Note: Google Calendars cannot be imported directly into Section Calendars. If you need to import a Google Calendar, use a School Calendar instead, or embed the Google Calendar directly on a page within your section.

Finding an Existing Section Calendar

  1. Navigate to the section where you expect the calendar to be located

  2. Look for the calendar listed alongside the pages in that section

  3. If a calendar exists, it will be clearly visible in the section's content list

Adding a New Section Calendar

Follow these simple steps to create a Section Calendar:

Step 1: Access the Section

Navigate to the section where you want to add the calendar.

Step 2: Add New Content

Click on the Add Page button in the page section.

Step 3: Select Calendar

In the Add Page menu, click on Calendar to create your Section Calendar.

Step 4: Add Your First Event

In the Calendar feature, click on Add Event to create your first calendar entry.

Once you've added at least one event, the calendar will become visible and remain permanently accessible in your section.

Tips for Success

  • Start with one event: Your Section Calendar won't appear until you add your first event, so create a test event to get started

  • Coordinate with your team: Make sure all section members know they can access and edit the calendar

  • Keep it focused: Use Section Calendars for events specific to your department or group

  • Use School Calendars for school-wide events: Reserve Section Calendars for section-specific activities
