This guide shows you the two ways to reach the Pages area of your school website's CMS, and explains the page types you'll see once you're there.
Two ways to get to Pages
Method 1: From the dashboard
After logging into the CMS, click the Pages tile on the main dashboard.
Method 2: From the hamburger menu
Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
Click Page Management in the main menu.
Click Pages in the submenu.
The Page Management submenu also contains four other Pages-related areas:
Links — site-wide navigation links
Redirects — URL redirect rules
Password-Protected Areas — gated sections of your site
Homepage Widgets — content blocks that appear on the homepage
If you're working with any of those, the same hamburger → Page Management path gets you there.
Page types you'll see
Once you're in the Pages area, you'll see different types of pages depending on your account permissions.
Category Pages (default view)
When you first open Pages, you land on Category Pages — the organized content tree of your school website. Categories (Academic Departments, Athletics, etc.) contain Sections, which contain Pages.
To open a page in a Category Page:
Click the category you want to work with
Click the section containing the page
Click the page name to open it in the page editor
Only website administrators and accounts with explicit access can manage Category Pages.
Personal Pages
These are individual pages owned by teachers and staff for their classroom or personal-use content (schedules, assignments, parent communication, etc.). Personal Pages use a separate workflow.
To open Personal Pages:
From the Pages area, click Personal Pages
Click the page you want to edit
Who can access what
Role | Category Pages | Personal Pages |
Website Administrators | All | All |
Regular Users- Teachers and Staff | Typically none - Can be assigned specific Category Pages | Their own Personal Pages |
If you need access to additional Category Pages or sections, contact your website administrator.
Quick tips
Category Pages = school-wide information (policies, departments, announcements)
Personal Pages = teacher-owned classroom and personal content
Always check which type you're editing before making changes — Category Page changes affect site-wide structure
Use the breadcrumb at the top of the editor to confirm where you are
