Education Perfect’s AI-powered feedback is generated using a set of Large Language Models (LLMs), which are a core component of EP’s AI feedback system. In order for the LLMs to generate this feedback, they are provided the following information by the EP platform:
The details of the lesson (i.e. the topic material, which sets the overall context in which the feedback is provided)
The question
The student’s answer (note that no personally identifiable student information is passed to the LLM)
The question’s model answer and explanation (questions lacking a model answer or explanation will have AI feedback disabled). For official EP content, model answers are created by EP’s teaching experts and are curriculum aligned.
A marking rubric for the question
All of the above information guides the EP AI system to generate the resulting feedback and the estimated star rating.
