Objective

This article and accompanying video provide a step-by-step guide for school admin to set up a school on the Edusfere platform, ensuring all necessary settings and user management tasks are completed efficiently.

Accessing the Admin Dashboard

  • Log in to the Edusfere platform at admin.edusfere.app

  • Familiarize yourself with the admin dashboard and its main features.

Setting Up School Information

  • Navigate to the Settings page.

  • Fill in the school name, type (e.g., Private K-12), and location (e.g. United States, Iowa, Cedar Rapids).

  • Add a short description of the school.

Uploading the School Logo

  • Click the plus button next to the Logo section.

  • Choose the logo file from your device and crop it as needed.

  • Click Save and then Update to apply changes.

Creating Unit Form Templates

  • On the Settings page, locate the Unit Form Templates section.

  • Create a new template by naming it (e.g., 'Windy Willow's Standard Unit Template').

  • Add necessary fields (e.g., essential questions, enduring understandings, attributes) by clicking Add Field.

  • Change the type of field from editor (a normal text field), multi-select list or single-select list options as needed.

  • Check the "Set as Default Unit Template" box at the bottom of the page to set it as the default option for all of your teachers, if you wish to.

Setting Academic Standards

  • Click on the Standards Settings tab in the Settings page.

  • Click Edit and search for your desired state or org standards (e.g., Iowa, ISTE).

  • Check all relevant standards and click update to add standards as needed.

Importing Users

  • Go to the User Management page.

  • To add users individually, click Add Users and enter their details (name, email, role).

  • For bulk import, prepare a CSV file with the format: first name, last name, email, role, and upload it using the Import button.

Updating User Profiles and Profile Pictures

  • Click on a user’s name to access their profile.

  • Navigate to the "User Settings" tab.

  • Hover over their avatar and click to upload their profile picture.

  • Note: Google users will have their profile pictures synced with their Google account on first login.

Building Curriculum

  • Navigate to the Curriculum Hub.

  • Click Add Course to create a new course structure.

  • Use the dropdown menus to select grade level(s) and subject.

  • Name the course and click the checkmark confirm and save.

  • Use the three-dot button on the right hand side to ddd units and lessons as needed, as well as manage access for other teachers.
