How do I install the EduSynch E-proctoring LTI plugin on Canvas?

Add the EduSynch E-Proctoring app to Canvas manually

  1. Open Canvas and click on Admin

  2. Select your account/sub-account

  3. Navigate to Settings

  4. Click on the Apps tab

  5. Click on the View App Configurations tab

  6. Click on the button + Add App

  7. Add the following into the Add App interface:

  1. Configuration Type: By URL

  2. Name: EduSynch E-Proctoring

  3. Consumer Key: edusynch

  4. Shared Secret: eproctoring

  5. Config URL: https://lti.edusynch.com/config

  6. Click Submit to add the EduSynch E-Proctoring app to the selected account. It will be added to all courses within that account.

Generate Access Tokens + Input Information from EduSynch

After adding the EduSynch E-Proctoring app, refresh your page and you will see the EduSynch E-Proctoring tab available on your Admin panel. Clicking on it will pull up the Setup tab. It will look like this:

There are 4 fields here that need to be filled out:

  1. Email - this is the email tied to your institution. You will choose this after entering into an agreement with EduSynch.

  2. Password - this is also tied to your institution. You will choose this after entering into an agreement with EduSynch.

  3. API Key - this is given to you by EduSynch. This will be given to you by EduSynch. If you have not received one, please email sean@edusynch.com.

  4. Canvas Token - you must generate an Access Token on your canvas account to be able to use the EduSynch E-Proctoring tool. Follow the instructions here: How to generate a Canvas Token
